I was advised to use 105 lbs springs as I am looking to use the Mace COMP Cam with 1.8 rockers and stock valve springs, but that means I have to remove my balance shaft which I don’t like as I'm sure the engineers at GM put it there for a reason.

They did; to counteract secondary harmonics at around 1500RPM. This tends to be insignificant as soon as a decent sized cam is installed.
