I have alifter or cam problem with a V6 3.8 stroker (See illustrations below),this is a series 2 engine,this is the third time this motor has had this problem. It looked like the lifter was trying to turn so we replaced the lifters and the cam also fitted

Thanks for the pics I've never seen anything like this before. It does appear that the lifters themselves have been rotating in the bore. The only thing that I can think of is that the lobes had a slight taper from factory You can try using lifters with tie bars lifters, but I can't see that being a long term solution Please keep us posted with how you go with it
