Is there anything else needed for the thermostat? Do have to run a tune to suit for the thermo fans Or can I just place it in and go?

Nothing else is required to run the thermostat. You can install it and go. However, for greater cooling gains you could get the tune re-calibrated such that the thermo fans can come on at a lower operating temperature.
