I received the CAI kit to suit my VZ V6, however I got the wrong lid.

You should have received a black lid and a brown lid (cardboard looking). The brown lid is in fact the clear lid with brown protective layers on it. All you need to do is peal these layers back and the clear lid will be reveled.
