NO, we recommend staying with the factory-fitted ECU/PCM as these are very tuneable. In fact, many of the aftermarket ECUs are primarily designed for max power applications and they don't provide any of the cold start, stop/start driving functions that the factory ECUs do. We have seen the factory ECU used on engines with basic bolt-on mods to high-performance blown engines without problems producing just as much power as aftermarket ECUs can.
Fitting an aftermarket ECU is also a very costly exercise. Many aren't a simple "plug & play" setup. First, you need to purchase the ECU, then you need to have it wired in and then it still needs to be tuned. We believe in using the factory ECU/PCM, then using the extra leftover $$$ on other performance-enhancing parts.
