In fact, we recommend that when fitting an 82-degree thermostat that the thermofan on/off settings are altered in the tune to suit as this will prevent excessive heat soak in the engine/engine bay.
Keeping the engine cooler aids in power delivery, this is especially important in blown applications where excessively hot air intake temps quickly reduces torque as the engine management pulls out timing to prevent pinging.
