The factory cam angle sensor is retained for RLM601 and RLM603. It is positioned from the rear face of the cam gear. The magnet will only fit in one hole which has a shallow counter-bore for the feet of the magnet to clip into (image 2). Please view the images for further clarification.
The oil pump cover will definitely need to be machined when installing our RLM603 due to clearance issues between the pump and the timing gear. We do offer an off the shelf replacement that has already been ground down which you’ll be able to purchase HERE. This cover isn’t mandatory when fitting an RLM601 or RLM602 but we highly recommend the gap to be double checked as every motor can slightly vary in terms of tolerances.
