Do I Need A Memcal or Reprogrammed PCM?

You either need a memcal or a re-programmed PCM as they are both basically the same thing.

From VN to VT the ECU/PCM (Power Control Module) as well as the L67 powered VX/VY models were fitted with a removable chip (MEMCAL) which contains the engine tune.

The later VX/VY models (ecotec) have a PCM which has been fitted with flash memory which can only be updated by hooking it up directly to a laptop or tuning equipment using a data cable.  In this case we have to send out a complete PCM unless you send us your original one first.

Hi Mic,

Thank you for your enquiry:

Given that you've an L67, we wouldn't need your PCM, we can tune a memcal for you based on the list of your mods. Please email us at info@maceengineering.com.au with the list of your mods and the full description of your vehicle and we will take it from there.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Jason

Hi Dane,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, I checked the history and an order of replacement memcal has been out.

I assume the problem has been fixed.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Michael
